What’s Happening this week

If you are needing to do research for a homework project try using our featured database of the month, NewsBank. It has been a trusted source of information since the 1980’s.

NewsBank provides access to America’s News Magazines, a database of articles and valuable information from a selection of 27 magazines and news sources. This also includes access to full-text articles in the electronic edition of the Sarasota Herald Tribune from 1995 to present. NewsBank offers researchers a Current Events section that includes Special Reports and Hot Topics. Content is from sources throughout the world to provide a global perspective, current and background information, statistics, maps, images, websites, and suggested search terms. Articles can be downloaded, printed or emailed and searches can also be saved for future use.

You can access NewsBank anytime with your Sarasota County Library Card from the library website scgov.net/library. Click on “Library Resources”, locate the link “Research Help and More” and select “NewsBank” listed under the Newspaper, Magazine and Journal Articles heading.
