Please join us for An Evening with Peter Fletcher on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 5 p.m. at Elsie Quirk Library. Peter Fletcher is an American classical guitarist based in Detroit and New York City. His concerts are full of rich, soothing melodies that offer a precise rhythmic vitality that will surely please music lovers of all ages.
His recital program includes a repertoire that runs the gamut from the Renaissance Period through the 20th Century. In addition, Fletcher will perform a very special solo version of Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major, and two of his original transcriptions from his critically acclaimed Fedrico Mompou album, released on Centaur Records in 2002. The concert will culminate with Isaac Albeniz’s Rumores de la Caleta, one of the most exciting Spanish works in the classical guitar repertoire.
Performing more than 100 concerts annually, Fletcher has won two Eastman Graduate Awards from the Eastman School of Music, where he earned a Master of Music degree.

Great Decisions meets at 10:15 a.m. Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs and addresses eight of the most thought-provoking foreign policy challenges facing American’s each year. Sponsored by the Friends of Elsie Quirk Library. - AARP Tax Aide at 10:30 a.m.
- Englewood Genealogical Society – DNA SIG meets at 1 p.m.
- Monday Night Movies at 5 p.m. Tonight’s film is about a widower who is determined to get to the bottom of a potentially explosive secret involving his wife’s murder, big business, and corporate corruption. (R, 129 mins.) Contact the library for movie titles.
- English for Spanish Speakers/Gratis Clase de Ingles para Hispanohablantes meets at 5:30 p.m. This class is for Spanish speakers, who want to improve their English skills in speaking, and understanding English, with emphasis on correct pronunciation. Students must be able to speak some basic English.

- Master Gardener Plant Clinic 10 a.m. – Noon. Stop in to get free answers to your Florida gardening and landscape questions.
