What’s Happening: January 16-22

The Elsie Quirk Library is pleased to introduce our new library assistant, Englewood’s own Cynthia Cuffy. Come in and say hello to Cynthia at the circulation desk—you will soon find out why we are so happy to have her on the EQ team! Speaking of welcoming people, we are pleased to be seeing our winter friends making their way back down south and into the library. We look forward to introducing you all to the changes and updates since you were here last.

Are your Wednesdays lacking engagement? We invite you to join us at your friendly local library for Board Game Day. Between 2 and 6 p.m. Every Wednesday board games for all ages and interests are available to play throughout the library. Bring a friend or make a friend for some classic board game fun, or to learn a newfangled favorite. No time for a whole board game, but still want to have some fun? Make a move or two in the Elsie Quirk vs the Universe scrabble game, located between the circulation and reference desks. Be warned, though, your faithful Head Librarian is a monster Scrabble player.

Along with board games, story times, and more, we are revving up for the 20th Annual Lemon Bay Fest! This year’s celebration will be a mix of programs, activities, and events provided by the Elsie Quirk Public Library and the Englewood Charlotte Public Library in conjunction with our generous community partners. Lemon Bay Fest will run from February 5 through February 12. Mark your calendars for some zesty delight!
