Each year the Friends of the Elsie Quirk Library awards a scholarship to a candidate who has exhibited high quality academic achievement and outstanding community service experience at Elsie Quirk Library and in the Englewood community. Home schooled, Flannery McIntyre, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Friends in appreciation for her years of volunteer service.
Flannery volunteered in the Youth Department at Elsie Quirk Library during her four years of high school. In addition, she served as Teen Representative on the Friends of the Elsie Quirk Library Board of Directors. An active member of Teen Advisory Board at Elsie Quirk Library, Flannery also served as Advisory Board Vice President and President. She will be majoring in Harp and Medieval Studies at Brown University in Rhode Island.
