June 25 – July 1 Weekly Events
at the Elsie Quirk Library

The Sarasota County Library System is committed to partnering with area agencies to offer Artists in the Libraries. This cultural experience offers visitors a chance to participate in a free studio art session with a trained teaching artist. Each workshop is a hands-on, interactive art exploration in a unique discipline. Specific age appropriate sessions are being offered at area county libraries for children, teens and adults. Artists will provide training in numerous art forms including Kagura Japanese Dance, optical illusions, jewelry design, oriental brush painting, watercolor painting, percussion instruments, Balinese dance and Origami. The Artists in the Libraries series is made possible through a partnership of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County, the Arts & Cultural Alliance for Sarasota County, the Association of Florida Teaching Artists, and the Sarasota County Library System. To find the full schedule of events and to register, visit www.scgov.net/library or call the Sarasota County Contact Center at 941-861-5000.
