  • We are getting ready for Earth Day at Elsie Quirk Library! Next Tuesday, join Corky Dalton, a guest columnist at the Venice Gondolier, for a lecture on the complex life cycle of Banyan trees. The lecture starts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 12 at 3:30 p.m., everyone is invited to come decorate a clay pot and plant a seed. We then shift focus to our One Book selection for this year, “The Personal Librarian,” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. Thursday April 13th at 2 p.m., join us for a dramatic reading of selected excerpts from the book by the Arts Alliance Playreaders, a Sarasota County favorite! We’ll also be discussing the book in the Quirky Readers Book Club on Tuesday April 18th at 10:30 a.m.
