May marks the start or restart of several programs at Elsie Quirk Library! Happily, there are a lot of new ways to grow your knowledge, friends, and fun at the library. Favorite programs will continue to thrive at the library as well.
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY once again appears at Elsie Quirk on Saturday, May 7. Free comics will be available while supplies last. Due to limited supply, we ask that each patron choose only one comic from the available children’s, young adult, or adult titles. Meanwhile, everyone is invited to join in our drop-in craft from noon – 2 p.m. and create your own comic book themed coaster.
Starting May 2, Monday night movies are back at Elsie Quirk. Popular movies will start at 5 p.m. For a list of titles check out our online calendar or contact the library at (941) 861-1110.
Tuesday, May 3, 2 – 3 p.m., marks the start of our Technology 101 series of programs. This series is designed to start from the ground up. All the knowledge needed to fully participate in a program will be gained in earlier sessions. If you don’t know anything about technology, you’ll be fine starting in week
one. If you just want to brush up on a specific topic, join as many or few of the sessions as you’d like. Bring your own device or borrow a Chromebook laptop from the library during the session.
May 3 – Basic Vocabulary & Exploring Features. This is a great session if you’d like to find out what
options are available with your device. Registration recommended due to limited space, register here.
May 17 – Email Creation & Mastery. Determine the right number of email addresses for your needs, as
well as how to create, manage, and use the features of email. Registration recommended due to limited
space, register here.
