August 5 – August 12 Weekly Events
at the Elsie Quirk Library

The library will be offering a variety of theatrical opportunities this week for all ages. Our popular Monday Night Movie starts at 5 pm and this month will be featuring award winning films from 2004. We will also be offering a free Family Movie on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 1 pm. Children and youth 18 and under are invited to come for our free Summer Break Spot lunch at noon and stay for the movie. This will be our last week participating in this wonderful program.

Along with a large selection of free DVDs in a variety of genres, the library also offers some online streaming options. The most recent addition to our collection is Access Video on Demand and the new World Cinema feature. With nearly 500 feature films from the most renowned directors across the globe, this unique collection includes the best of the silent era, groundbreaking international directors, American and European masterpieces from the mid-20th century, and award-winning contemporary films featured by Global Lens. The World Cinema collection shines a light on the history of cinema while also providing a glimpse into the cultures and issues of countries around the world. All you need is your library card to view Access Video on Demand from home. Find Access Video on Demand by visiting our Web Resources page at https://www.scgov.net/Library/databases or visit your local Sarasota County Library branch for more information.
